Fundraising Events

Special events offer a wonderful opportunity to make new friends and raise funds for programs and projects to enhance the Prout student experience.

Spring Auction: March 21, 2020

The Spring Auction, now in its 26th year, is The Prout School's single largest fundraising event. All proceeds -- except for the monies raised during the Fund a Need portion of the evening -- allow the school to provide financial assistance to those families that want a safe, rigorous Catholic education for their children, but cannot do so without some help.

The event features fun games, a chance to meet lots of other parents, a wonderful meal, and an impressive array of silent and live auction items. All bidding (except for the live auction) is done from your smart phone, so it's easy and leaves plenty of time to socialize!

We're thrilled to announce that this year's auction will take place at the gorgeous Ochre Court (pictured above), on the campus of Salve Regina University in Newport on Saturday, March 21, 2020. Invitations will be sent out shortly. The theme this year, given the new venue and the fact that it is 2020, is the Roaring 20's.

The event is a lot of fun, but an enormous undertaking. Fortunately, we are in the capable hands of our auction co-chairs -- Prout moms Meredith Barber and Chantel O'Neill -- and an incredibly enthusiastic and hard-working committee.

We hope to see you on March 21! In the meantime, here are four ways you can help right now:

  • The event features a fabulous silent auction with tons of fun packages. All of those items are donated by Prout families and local businesses. To make donating a good silent auction item as easy as possible, we've created a "wish list" on amazon.com. Click here to look at the items we've earmarked on amazon.com. Purchase one or more of these items online; the items are sent directly to Prout!
  • If you a frequent patron of a local business, ask them to donate an item or gift certificate. Click here for some ideas; this is a list of businesses that have kindly contributed in previous years. Click here for an introductory letter you can give the business.
  • Click here if you'd like to make a dollar contribution, which will allow us to purchase bottles of wine and gift cards, two big ingredients for a fun and successful evening. Donations of all amounts are welcome and appreciated.
  • We set up these links to save you a trip to the store, but we'll also gladly accept any donation (or contribution) you would like to make. Anything is appreciated. Just bring your contributions to the main office at Prout in a bag marked Attention: Auction.

We sincerely thank you for your consideration and help! Contact Meredith or Chantel if you have any questions.
