Application Procedure
Please note: The Prout School is currently accepting applications.
1. Attend Prout's Open House on Sunday, November 6, 2011 from 1-4 pm . This event is not mandatory, but will give you an opportunity to meet with our faculty and staff.
Arrange to spend the day with a Prout student by contacting the Admissions Office. We are limited to 5 visitors a day; please call to make an appointment. (401) 789-9262 x515. For information on our Shadow a Crusader for the Day please follow the link. Crusader Shadows will be begin on October 3, 2011.
2. Register for and take the entrance exam. The exam will be offered on Saturday, December 3, 2011. A makeup exam will be offered on Saturday, December 10, 2011. Both exams will begin at 8:30 am (doors open at 8 am). There are a limited number of seats available for the exam, so register early. The completed exam registration and application forms are due prior to the student taking the entrance exam.

3. Submit recommendation form to guidance counselor/ 8th grade teacher. The completed form must be submitted to Prout by the teacher/ guidance counselor to ensure confidentiality. Teacher recommendations are due by December 19, 2011.
4. Submit records release form to the current school the student is attending. Your transcript should come from the guidance office. Copies of the student's academic transcript should be forwarded to The Prout School. Parents of perspective students are required to ensure that The Prout School Admissions Office receives the academic transcripts by December 19, 2011.
5. If necessary you will be contacted to set up a date and time for an interview.
6. Once your file is complete you will be notified in writing of your acceptance status. Decision letters will be mailed on January 27, 2012.
Please note the above deadlines. Any applicant that does not have a completed application on file by December 19, 2011 will be late and possibly waitlisted. After December 19, applications will be processed on a "rolling admissions" basis, meaning qualified students will be waitlisted until a spot is vacated in a class.
