Spanish I Honors
Grade 9
Prerequisite: Successful Completion of Spanish I
This course introduces the student to the Spanish language via the study of basic vocabulary and structure patterns. The emphasis is on developing skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in the target language. Speaking skills are introduced through individual and group work, repetition drills, chain conversations and modification exercises. Morphology and syntax are introduced and utilized through written exercises and creative writing of brief dialogues and paragraphs. Students take part in pairing and group work to present real-life scenarios to the class in Spanish. Honors Spanish covers more material and more work is required from students than in a regular Spanish I class.
