Pre-Calculus Honors
Grade 11, 1 credit
Prerequisites: Algebra II Honors and recommendation of the teacher
This course will prepare students for the rigors of a college-level course ion Calculus. It will move at a rapid pace and will cover advanced topics. Students will use the graphing calculators to explore various families of functions and transformations to these functions. A thorough study of the topics of trigonometry will also be included. Other topics include inverse functions, vectors and parametric equations, polar coordinates and complex numbers, conic sections, and sequences and series. Students will need strong algebraic skills to work through challenging problems. They will also need a solid command of mathematical vocabulary in order to communicate their ideas effectively.
