Upcoming Performances
VISUAL and PERFORMING ARTS
The 2011-2012 Season
The Prout School Theatre program presents Macbeth by William Shakespeare on February 10 and February 11 at 7:30pm. The performance will be presented by students, alumni, faculty and administration, as well as guest artists.
Movement and dance are being added to Macbeth to enhance the subtext or subconscious of the characters in the play. While actors are being used; dance and movement are interwoven to create a multi-dimensional and innovative take on this Shakespeare classic. Guest dancers include professionals Nicholas Real, Shane Farrell, Christine Sandorfi and Elizabeth Stackhouse.
The dance/movement will be performed in such styles as ballroom, ariel ballet, contemporary and ballet styles to entice the audience-- adding ambience and mystique to this production.
The performance is an innovative, inter-curricular collaboration between the English teachers and the Theatre Department at The Prout School. Student in classes studying Shakespeare are participating or attending the performance, as teachers work together to bring the literature to life for students.
Tickets are $10.00 and are available at the door the night of the performance. They can also be purchased by calling the Theatre hotline at 789-9262. Ext. 548. Tickets can be reserved with a credit card and picked up at the door the night of the show.
