Where do you volunteer?
I volunteer at my church; St. Francis of Assisi located in Wakefield, the Snow Angel Ball, the Matthew Siravo Memorial Epilepsy Foundation and several baseball camps and clinics to help young children learn how to play basketball.

Why do you volunteer with those organizations?
I volunteer at my church because I feel it is important to remain involved in the church and I also feel it is right to give something back to the church.  I began volunteering at the Epilepsy foundation because I feel it is a very worthwhile cause and I have unfortunately, had friends that have been tragically affected by this disease.  In addition to this, I volunteer with the baseball camps because I really enjoy baseball and enjoy helping younger children develop there skills while at the same time having fun.

What kinds of responsibilities/jobs do you have?
In the past, at St. Francis of Assisi I have helped out with pasta dinners and breakfasts by setting up the tents and food tables.  While working at the baseball camps, I have helped teach the fundamentals of baseball to younger children.  Lastly, when working at the Snow Angel Ball I helped set up the auction worked with checking out auction items.

How does volunteering make you feel?
Volunteering makes me feel good because I am helping others in need and I feel that it is important to give back to the community.

Why and how did you begin volunteering?
I began volunteering with my church in middle school helping with different events that the church held.  When I came to Prout I began to do a lot more volunteering with different organizations, not just my church.

How has The Prout School impacted or effected your perception of community service?
The Prout School has helped me to realize why volunteering is important in helping the community. Thus far, my total volunteering hours have added up fast because there were so many opportunities available to me that allowed me to help people in areas that I really like.  Not only do I like working with kids, but also with many of the senior citizen volunteers that I have gotten to know very well.   Taken together, all of these experiences have impacted who I am today.

What does The Prout School do to assist your community service efforts?
The Prout faculty members have encouraged me to obtain community service hours by suggesting some possible community service opportunities.
