AP Calculus (BC Level)
Grade 12: 1 credit
Prerequisite: Students who achieve an A in Pre-Calculus Honors, IB Math SL, or recommendation of the instructor.
The main goal of this course is to prepare students for the Advanced Placement Calculus BC Examination. This preparation requires students to understand the various concepts of Calculus and the connections between these concepts. Beyond this, students must learn the techniques of solving problems and how/when to apply these, both singly and in combination. It is hoped that students will take away an appreciation for the subject and have an overall understanding of why Calculus was discovered and remains important. Students taking this course should plan on continuing their mathematics career in college.
