How do you get students excited about learning a new language?
Being able to teach something that I am passionate about is critical. Students are able to witness firsthand my passion for the Spanish language and it becomes contagious. I have always felt and still do feel that I was born to be a teacher and I love reaching out to the students.

Annual Appeal
The Prout School 2011-2012 Annual Appeal
The Prout School provides one of the highest quality high school educational experiences – public or private – in the state of Rhode Island. A Prout education features a rewarding combination of academic excellence, community service, spiritual development, athletic success, and vibrant visual & performing arts. We offer an active community that encourages interaction among all of its members, including teachers, students, alumni/ae, administration, and friends.
Prout endeavors to keep its tuition as low as possible so that more families have the opportunity to send students to the school. Partially as a result, the actual cost to educate a Prout student for one year exceeds our annual tuition, and we thus attempt to make up the difference in ways large and small. The Annual Appeal helps greatly in that regard, bridging the gap between Prout’s receipts and its growing expenses. It helps to raise funds that are absolutely critical to the school’s annual operating budget.
Gifts to the Appeal provide immediate and direct benefit to the school’s ongoing daily programs, as well as to each student and faculty member. We must ask for your help in our efforts to stay at the top each year, to continue providing the absolute best educational value for each student.
There is also no end to our need to consistently update the technological capabilities at the school, the list is never-ending. Prout’s faculty members are constantly looking for new and exciting tools that will help to improve the impact of their instruction and facilitate student learning. Each year new computers, interactive white boards, portable projectors, and library and multimedia units need to be added to our list of equipment. Among our forthcoming needs are the continual upgrades of both the computer lab and library, and the acquisition of additional multimedia presentation units.
Importantly, some individuals work for companies that offer a Matching Fund for charitable gift-giving, in which all or part of an employee’s gift is “matched” by the company. Prout has benefited from matching gift funds in past years, and we encourage their use when available.
Why is The Prout School Annual Appeal worth supporting? It directly improves the educational experience on the Prout campus, every day, and in a multitude of ways.
Does each individual gift make a difference? Absolutely! Each and every gift to the Annual Appeal provides a real impact, since it is combined with others to pay for current and crucial expenses for the school.
Are individual gifts to the Appeal tax-deductible? Gifts to Prout are always tax deductible as permitted by law, of course.
