Campus Ministry

The Campus Ministry Program takes its cue from the school’s Mission Statement which speaks of helping students to develop a committed relationship with God and to use their gifts to build up His kingdom on earth.  The entire Prout community of staff, students, parents, and alumni participate together in the prayer life and outreach programs of the school.  Through prayer, retreats, and service we grow together as one body in serving the Lord.

The Office of Campus Ministry consists of one part-time Chaplain and one full-time Director of Campus Ministries who work closely with the members of the religion department and the moderator of the LaSallian Youth Program to develop programs and prayer opportunities that will enhance the spiritual life of the community. These include:

  • Morning prayer over the intercom;
  • Prayer at the beginning of each class;
  • The celebration of Mass and the remembrance of Prout’s history and mission on Prout Day in September;
  • The celebration of Mass and blessing of rings on Junior Ring Day;
  • The student/parent celebration of the Senior Baccalaureate Mass;
  • The celebration of Mass on all holy days and at least once again each month;
  • A Welcome Prayer Service for all freshmen;
  • All school assemblies to mark the beginning of Advent and Lent;
  • Optional morning prayer services in the chapel during Advent and Lent;
  • The celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation during Advent and Lent;
  • A faculty retreat in the Fall;
  • A retreat for each class each year;
  • School wide out-reach programs, such as food and clothing drives;
  • Assistance to students in finding and completing 25 hours of Christian service per year; and
  • School wide assemblies that promote Catholic values and the living of the Gospel.
