Should the school close or delay its start time for weather -- or any other reason -- that information will be disseminated primarily through the Rhode Island Broadcasters Association (RIBA).
Once RIBA hears from us, they in turn notify this list of TV and radio stations. Each station will then post the information in the "School Closings" section of its website. It's also recommended that you sign up for text alerts from one or more of these stations. Do this before the snow season begins!
Another way that we may choose to communicate such changes will be though Constant Contact, the platform we use to send daily emails.
There will be situations where Prout is open and your local district-provided busing is not available. In those cases, you will need to find alternate transportation for your child. However, if transportation poses a risk given your local conditions, The Prout School will provide your child with an excused absence.
