“Good God! Just an hour into the engagement party and already there’s been a murder!” This quote, said by Robert, embodies the chaos of this slapstick comedy. The story of the One Act Play That Goes Wrong takes place in the Cornley Polytechnic Drama Society, and is about a play that goes wrong. The members of the theatre society are performing a play titled The Murder at Haversham Manor, during which everything that can go wrong does, even before it begins. The actors are faced with many challenges through the duration of the performance. Beginning with attempting to fix last-minute disasters before the play begins “officially” to Florence and Thomas continuously becoming injured, the play is pure chaos. Will the performance end with everyone in pieces? The One-Act Play That Goes Wrong will have the audience rolling out of their seats and leaving with a smile on their faces.
